Thanksgiving Sweet Potato Casserole & Favorite Recipe Linky
When your teen asks you to make “extra” this year, you know it’s good. 🙂
We always spend Thanksgiving with my husband’s family and the sweet potato casserole has been my contribution for years.  I’m not going to lie, I have a sweet tooth.  I might be the only one in the family that does…so I make this!  It goes really well with the Turkey my MIL makes and the sausage stuffing my SIL makes. YUM! Do you have a recipe you make year after year? Please share with us. Below you can link up your recipe on your website, or you can leave a comment.  One of the best Wedding gifts I recieved was a Casserole carrier. It makes it easy to transport and it keeps it warm.   [print_recipe]
Sweet Potato Casserole
Ingredients:
6 Regular Cans of Yams (or 4 Large cans)
1 Can sweetened condensed milk
1 Stick of Butter (softened)
1/2 Cup sugar
1/4 Cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla flavor
Topping ingredients:
1/2 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1/2 Stick butter (softened)
1 Cup chopped pecans
Mash yams and mix together the rest of the casserole ingredients. In a separate bowl combine the topping ingredients. Pour yam mixture into a 13 x 9 casserole dish. Sprinkle topping mixture evenly on top. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes or until topping is brown and a little crispy.
