Homemade Deodorant With Essential Oils

Homemade Deodorant With Essential Oils

One of the reasons I started using essential oils was try and rid our bodies of toxins.  Store deodorant and the chemicals in them have been weighing on me for a while.  I’m not kidding when I say I literally thought about it every time I put them on.  I love knowing the ingredients in this one.

You can purchase your own empty deodorant containers here.  This makes approx. 3 full containers.

1/3 Cup Coconut Oil
2 1/2 Tb Beeswax
4 Tb Arrowroot
1/2 Tb Aloe Vera
1 Tb Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Vitamin E
Essential Oils – I used 5 drops Lavender and 5 Drops Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea tree)

Deodorant DIY

I put a glass bowl on top of a saucepan with boiling water. This is like a double boiler. Melt Coconut oil, beeswax, aloe and vitamin E until combined.

Making Deodorant

Remove from heat and add your arrowroot and baking soda, combine well.
Now you can pour into your deodorant containers. The baking soda may add some bubbles to the mixture so when you pour into the containers, tap them on the counter to get air bubbles out. I was able to add more to each container once I did this.

Allow to cool and harden for a few hours.

Don’t forget I have a special going on right now for the Premium Essential Oils starter kit.  Click here to read more.
