Easy Mother’s Day Photo Keepsake
By Contributing writer Jessica.
These pictures are my very favorite Mother’s Day gifts to make. When I taught second grade, I started making these with my students based on an idea I saw somewhere online and I just love how they turn out every time. These are so easy and inexpensive. I purchased the letters on sale at a craft store and have been able to use them again and again.
After snapping (at least) two pictures of the child holding the ‘m’ and one of them holding the ‘o’ I use picmonkey to create a quick collage so it prints out as one picture. Tip: set the photo size as 1800 x 1200 for a 4×6 picture.
I have taken pictures inside and outside, used color and black and white, had siblings or individual children and these pictures are always a hit.
Last year, I bought frames for my mom and mother in law and gave them these pictures and then each year I can update with a new picture. When I was doing them for my students to take home, I would back them with white paper and then black paper so the parents could display however they liked. This same idea could be adapted so many ways, including one for dads on father’s day.
