Big Changes Coming Soon

I started Saving The Family Money in January of 2009 to share my family’s personal stories of saving money, in hopes that it would inspire and encourage other families.  Using coupons and shopping strategically has helped get my family out of debt and I hope the information on this website has helped many of you as well.  Over the years, the website has taken on a life of its own, with store matchups, daily deals and free offers.  Posting store sales and coupon matchups is very time consuming and while I enjoy shopping the sales, I do not enjoy the work behind posting this info.  Over the years, I have come to realize how much of my time goes into these and how much time it takes away from my family.

I’ll be making some changes to the website and the information that’s posted.  This was a very difficult decision that I’ve been thinking about for months.  I do not like letting people down and that includes my readers.  I need to focus on what I love and give my family more of my time (and my health.)

Changes coming:

No more store matchups –  While I know you all depend on these for saving money weekly, there are plenty of bloggers out there that do these and I’ll be sharing those resources for you. These will cease at the end of June.

No more coupon classes – I’ve taught coupon classes for over 3 years and it’s time to hang up that hat.  While I love sharing this information, the class interest has dwindled over the year and instead of 100 people attending, it’s dropped to around 10 per class.  Helping just 10 people per class still gives me joy, but my family is my priority right now.  I’ve missed a few soccer games and family movie nights.

Less daily deals – This one will be a hard one for me.  Posting a rockin’ daily deal is in my blood!  So, I can’t say I won’t let a few slip by once in a while. 🙂

More content posts – I love posting about 101 Frugal Disney tips or how to save money at the grocery store without coupons, so I’m going to be doing more of those!

More local informationLocal farmers markets, staycation ideas are just a few of the items I’ll be posting for my local readers.

Many of these changes will take place throughout June.  I hope you will continue to benefit from the content I share.  I am grateful for the support and encouragement you all have given me over the years.  Walk down this new path with me, and let’s continue to save together on a different level.
