At what price do you stock up on chicken? When I see it for $1.99 lb or under I stock up. I was very excited to see that Zaycon Foods is expanding to include Florida. Zaycon Foods is a privately owned company based in the state of Washington. The company was founded in 2009 to bring fresh meats and other products direct to consumers at wholesale prices. The founders have extensive experience in sales, business management and the grocery industry. Mike (one of the owners) is trying to spread the word in Florida and get people excited about the prices! So when he showed up at my door step with 40 lbs of Boneless skinless chicken, I was definitely excited. The chicken is fresh and it’s like getting it straight from the butcher. It is never frozen and the chicken is 100% natural with no added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients
Mine came in a refrigerated box (pictured above). Inside was a sealed bag and inside that were 4 other bags with 10 lbs of chicken each. Hubby and I worked together to separate the chicken into freezer safe ziplocs. Mike said there is some fat on them that we will need to remove, but it is no where near the amount I was expecting.
Here’s how it works:
- Head over to Zaycon Foods and register (It’s FREE!)
- Check the locations and see if they are in your area, or will be soon.
- They will email you when an event is coming to your area
- Then you can decide if you want to buy into that event.
You will need to pre-pay either by check or credit card if there is an event you want. Then on the designated day, take your receipt to the location indicated in your email. You’ll be looking for the Zaycon Foods van. It’s quick and easy and you don’t even have to get out of your car, they’ll load it for you. If you don’t have room for that much chicken, I’m sure at their great prices you’ll be able to find someone to split it with. But you can also order as many cases as you’d like! With this much chicken you can make BBQ Chicken, chicken poboys, chicken kabobs, chicken salad…….. ::insert Forrest Gump impression here:: I’ve seen the chicken as low as $1.48 a pound. I’m hoping the ground meat options will be rolling into Florida soon.
You’ll want to register with Zaycon Foods, because I’ll be doing a Giveaway with them soon. What’s better than cheap meat? FREE meat of course!
I met JC (Mike’s brother and another Owner) at the Social Soiree event at BlogHer. They were sponsors!
