I won’t lie, I have a serious sweet tooth. We always spend Thanksgiving with my husband’s family and the sweet potato casserole has been my contribution for years. It goes really well with the Turkey my MIL makes and the sausage stuffing my SIL makes. YUM! Do you have a recipe you make year after year? Please share with us. Sweet Potato Casserole
Ingredients:
6 Regular Cans of Yams (or 4 Large cans)
1 Can sweetened condensed milk
1 Stick of Butter (softened)
1/2 Cup sugar
1/4 Cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla flavor
Topping ingredients:
1/2 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup brown sugar
1/2 Stick butter (softened)
1 Cup chopped pecans
Mash yams and mix together the rest of the casserole ingredients. In a separate bowl combine the topping ingredients. Pour yam mixture into a 13 x 9 casserole dish. Sprinkle topping mixture evenly on top. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes or until topping is brown and a little crispy.
