I make this every Christmas. It’s usually part of my gift giving bags to family, friends etc. My kids love it too and we call it Christmas Crack. They giggle every time someone says it. I try to tell them that it’s call Christmas crack because it’s made out of crackers but they know it’s really because it’s addicting!
It’s so easy to make you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it before.
Saltine Cracker Christmas Crack Candy
1 Cup Butter (2 Sticks)
1 Cup Brown Sugar
12 oz Semi-chocolate chips
Health bar toffee crumbles
In a small sauce pan melt sticks of butter and mix in brown sugar. Bring to a boil and then reduce to low/med and continue to stir for a few minutes until well combined. While this is cooking, line a baking dish with foil and spray generously with cooking oil. Then lay out 1 layer of saltine crackers all over the baking dish.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Pour brown sugar mixture over the saltines and spread around. Put in the oven for 5-7 min. Take them out of the oven and let cool for about 5 min to let brown sugar harden. Sprinkle chocolate chips all over and let them start to melt. If you’d like you can stick back in the warm oven for bit. Don’t let them stay in there long as it will change their texture. Trust me I know. Once the chips start to melt, take a spatula or back of a spoon and spread them out over the crackers. Then, this is my favorite touch, adding the Heath bar sprinkles! Place the backing pan in the refrigerator for about an hour. Once cooled, pull up foil and break apart crack into pieces, big or small, it doesn’t matter. I alway store them in a baggie in the fridge. ENJOY!
