Have you seen the commercials yet? As of February 1st, 2012, JCPenney will have a new sale structure and will not longer be releasing coupons, nor having the 100′s of “sales” they previously had throughout the year. The company will use last year’s sales figures to slash all prices at least 40% or lower than last year’s prices. Here is the structure:
- “Every Day” low pricing daily
- “Monthly Value” discounts on select merchandise each month
- “Best Price” or clearance deals during the first and the third Friday of each month when many shoppers get paid.
This strategy is to help take the guess work out for shoppers and make it easier.
I’ve had my eye on a Bedding set for our Master bedroom makeover. It’ll be interesting to see what the price ends up being. But at least I won’t have to track down a coupon for it.
