Florida Times Union Subscription – Today Only Deal

by Karen on February 11, 2010

Update: Today is the day to call and get the Sunday only deal on the Florida Times Union.  You can also get the 7 days a week or Fri, Sat, Sun subscription.  Here are some added details:

7 Day Subscription
13 Weeks at $ 38.95

Friday, Saturday, Sunday Subscription
13 Weeks at $25.87

The offer is prepaid only, which means you have to pay upfront.  It also says one discounted offer per household.  I was planning on getting more than one so I will let you know how that goes.  You must call between 6 a.m and 6 p.m. TODAY to get this price.

Call 359-4255 Don’t forget to tell them Saving The Family Money hooked you up!  This might make a great practical Valentines gift.

Ok guys, I did a little leg work and found out that the Florida Times Union is offering a nice Deal on a Sunday only subscription. The Catch? You have to call on February 11th, 2010 to get the deal. I was told it’s called the Sweetheart Deal. You may have to mention that when you call. Here are the details:

35% off Sunday only Subscription
13 weeks at $16.83
26 weeks at $33.66
52 weeks at $67.32

This comes to $1.30 an issue! The regular price of the Sunday paper is $2.00. You can sometimes pick them up from vendors on the street corners for $1.50. But this deal takes the cake. I might even call and have more than one paper delivered on Sunday. I know someone who walks out and has 5 papers in her driveway on Sunday morning. If you want more than one, now’s the time.

I’ve been trying to get them to offer a deal to my readers for months but they don’t seem interested. If you want, you can mention this website when you call. Maybe if they hear it enough they’ll hook us up in the future!

Are you going to take advantage of this? I’ll send out a remind on February 11th so we don’t forget! :)

I called and was prepared to cancell my current subscription and restart after the period. Unfortunately, the promotion is for only 13 weeks and it would start now with a prepay. I have already prepaid for a month ahead on a 3-month schedule. The $8 I would save on the promotion, I would lose my $8 prepaid money. So, I decided to forego the offer. This is a great offer for new subscribers, but if you are existing subscriber, you need to do the math whether it is a money saver. Love this blog

Robin,
I am an existing subscriber and my original offer is up in November. However I decided to get an additional newspaper on Sunday’s to stock up on coupons. I don’t know why they told you it was only 13 weeks. I got a full year.
I’d call back if you do the numbers and it works out for you.

Haha! Thanks Sue. That’s pretty much the response I got when I tried to get them to offer my readers a deal. They were like “What? You’re who?” :)

I called and got the yearly deal for the price you mentioned. The customer service rep. will also give you their name and extension for confirmation in case something goes wrong and you need to report it. :)

Excellent. I’m thinking I’ll be calling Sunday b/c my carrier will probably be confused about my address getting 2 papers!
