The Florida Times Union is the local newspaper in the Jacksonville area. Back in November, I got a one-year Sunday subscription deal, for only $1 per paper. The store price is $1.50, and you normally can’t get just a Sunday subscription.
My sister called today (3/22/09), to let me know that she was just at the Publix on San Jose and I-295, where the Florida Times Union was offering this very same deal. She signed up, and also got a $10 Publix gift card for doing so. How fabulous is this? Unfortunately, the representative was a contracted employee and had no information on where else you can go to get this deal. He says if you call the newspaper they will not have this offer, although I’m not above trying! So if you are in the area today, stop by and see if you can get a subscription deal. If you see them in your neighborhood, let me know. In the meantime, I will try to dig up more information and see if I can get a heads up on where they will be. Maybe I can arrange to have them come to my Publix!
This would also be a good time to get extra copies of the newspaper, if you already have one subscription. Double up on those coupons. Who cares if your neighbors see 4 papers in your driveway on Sunday?
