I was in Target at 8 am this morning to scope out the 75% off Clearance toys.  I missed this sale last year so I wanted to get there early today.  I was not disappointed.  I got my kids, niece and nephews done for Birthdays and Christmas and some for the gift closet.  The employees were still marking stuff down while I was browsing.  Here’s a few tips:

• Look for the red clearance tags on the items and check the upper right hand corner. This is where the % off is.  See the item below is 75, so that means it’s already reduced 75%.   If you find items that are marked less than that, have an employee scan it with their ticket scanner.  Scanning it yourself at the price checker does not mean that is the REAL price.  The employees have to scan it with their special scanner to mark it down in the system.  Make sense?  Thanks to the Target employee Sienna for pointing me to some great items!
• If you think  you want the item, put it in your cart!  You can verify the price later.  If you wait, it maybe gone when you get back to it.  There were several people there early, with carts full!

Well Target just may help you save on some new ones this week!  My Target had $.50 off peelies on select packages of Hanes socks.  Use that with the Target printable Hanes coupon for $1.00 and get a great deal.

This package was $3.99 for 7 pairs (1 free pair inside) and I used both coupons and got them for $2.49, that’s $.35 per pair.  OH I may have to go back and stock up!

Quick tips on shopping at Publix:

1) You must buy both items in the BOGO (Buy 1 Get 1 Free) deals to get the free item in Florida. All other states will ring up half price.

2) You can use 1 MFR and 1 Store coupon (Publix or competitor) on each item – Even the Free BOGO items!

3) You only have to buy 1 of the multiples sales to get the sale price, example: 2/$3 or buy 1 for $1.50

4) Publix has a price guarantee, so if something doesn’t ring up the marked price, they will give it to you for free. Another reason to check those receipts before you leave the store.

5) Publix managers dictate which stores they consider competitors so check with your stores customer service for specifics.

6) Some Publix locations will double coupons up to $.50 (Does not apply in Florida)

This is also a good time to order the coupons you need from The Coupon Clippers before the sale ends. You can now print the Ad coupons from the Publix Website. These are under the Weekly Ad section and usually do not update until the sale starts for your area.

The ad does not say what size these are, so make sure you pick up the right ones or the deal won’t work.  Occasionally, in an effort to get you to try Publix brand items, they will give them to you free when you buy the name brand version. This week it includes the items above.  You do not need to buy all 3.  For example, you can pick up a Mott’s apple juice and get the Publix apple juice for free.  This is even a better deal if you can match up a coupon with the name brand items.  My Publix usually has a display of the items up front.   I did not see any coupons for these items.  If you find any, please let me know.
