I love when my readers find great deals and pass them onto me so I can share them with everyone. Marina was kind enough to forward me an email with coupons attached for free Velveeta and Reynolds wrap. She wasn’t sure they were legitimate so I checked into it for her. Unfortunately these have been circulating for a while. Please see these link for a picture of what they look like so you will know they are counterfeit.

Two things that immediately raised a red flag were that they are in PDF format and they have no expiration date. Manufacturers do not usually send out coupons in PDF format. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Retailers will not be reimbursed for these coupons and if they get too many counterfeit coupons, they will stop taking them. This happened recently at my Walmart. The cashier told me she unknowingly took $200 worth of counterfeit coupons and now the store will not take them. She also told me she could lose her job if it happens again. So in the end, we all suffer. Please use coupons legitimately and try to understand when a cashier questions them. They are just doing their job and trying to keep it. If you know you are using legitimate coupons then you can ask to speak with a manager. This is why it’s good to keep the corporate coupon policies with you, so you have a leg to stand on.
