I encourage my preschool students by having holiday parties in which we donate items to a charity. For example for Valentines’ Day, the children wore pjs and we donated new pjs to a local shelter. tracietrump@yahoo.com

I don’t think we’ve done anything but oldest son has naturally learned to help his younger sisters and brother. He gave his last two gummy bears that he got at school to his sisters when he came home. He is always willing to help them by getting them water or reaching a toy that is out of reach.

This year I had my 2 year old go to the store and pick out a toy to donate for Toys for Tots and I plan on having him do this every year. When he get’s a little older I would love to have him help out at the animal shelters! Thanks for the chance.

I’ve always encouraged my kids to stick up for the “underdog” in school. We have had many kind remarks during conferences from teachers who appreciated their kindness toward others. I think it has helped them to see that while some kids might not be as smart or as physically able as others, they are still a valued individual.

I help others by entering giveaways. That sounds silly but my friend who has a gluten free daughter got SIX gluten free products because one of my winnings!
I also put prayer requests at the end of my blogs.

Every year we make up gift boxes for X-mas to donate at church. Each of the kids makes one. Also our church does a shoe drive for missions & last year my kids bought & donated 9 pairs of shoes. Thanks!

I work with high school girls and encourage them to slow down and think about their words and actions……..once it’s out there the damage of hurtful words/actions is already done.
