9-Lives Prize Pack Giveaway

by Karen on September 8, 2010

9Lives wants pet parents to know they can feed their cats the food they love while providing them the nutrition they need with the 9Lives Advanced Nutrient System, which is sure to help keep your cat -and your budget – happy.  A survey of cat parents, found the following information:

  • Nearly half (48 percent) admit they´ve fed their cats table scraps – which do not provide the essential nutrients cats need – an average seven times per month
  • Additionally, only 30 percent know that giving your cat milk may not be a healthy practice due to the common incidence of lactose intolerance in adult cats.
  • 23% of American pet parents think it´s beneficial to keep their cats on a purely vegetarian diet, while actually it may be harmful.
  • There are a number of foods that feline parents assume are healthy for cats, but are actually not advantageous to their health including root vegetables (73%), green tomatoes (54%), and raw potatoes (50%).

In order to spread awareness, 9-Lives is offering a prize pack for a lucky feline owner of my website!  And as a special treat, I got to interview Morris the cat!  :)
Q: Why is important for you and other cats to eat a healthy well balanced diet?

A: Well, the same reason it is for humans I guess. So we can live a long, happy, healthy life. The real pressure is on our humans’ shoulders though, because they’re making the food choices for us.

Q: How do you maintain healthy eating when you travel?

A: Well, my humans make sure I maintain healthy, nutritious diet – and that always starts with 9Lives.

Q: In addition to eating healthy, what kind of daily activities to you do to maintain a healthy lifestyle?

A: I exercise with my trainer. He runs me through a rigorous routine of chasing various balls with bells in them, climbing cat towers, and jumping through hoops (no pun intended).

9-Lives Prize Pack includes:

  • 9-Lives Daily Essentials dry food
  • Pet food scoop
  • Cat toys
  • Magnetic frame

*The 9Lives Advanced Nutrient System, prize pack, information and additional prize pack to give away were all given to me by 9Lives through MyBlogSpark.

We have 5 cats, Meisha (my oldest son’s), Meijo (my youngest son’s), Nieto (my husband’s), Bacon (mine), & Cheddar (my youngest & I lay claim together to her). All five have very different personalities. They are the cutest furrbabies ever and provide us with constant laughter, love, & friendship. We couldn’t see our home any other way than with our 5. They were all gotten within a few months of each other. Meisha & Meijo are siblings just like Cheddar & Bacon. Nieto was a stray but you could never tell by looking at him now that he ever lived on the streets.
They are pretty amazing even when they try to lay over half your keyboard while you are trying to type this entry. ;)

My kitten helps my family so much. Myself and my two children are special needs. And my husband is deployed. The kitten helps in ways that I can’t even begin to describe.

Well I enjoy watching my baby chase her around. However, this feling belongs to my teenage daughter and has been her friend since her 8th Birthday . So, put simply she’s a member of the family.

We have 2 cats … they are a special part of our family! The kids adore the cats … it is always a competition as to who the cats will sleep with.

Our kitty is 11 years old and thank goodness in great health. He is a member of our family and means the world to my 6-year old son. Fluff has the sweetest disposition of any kitty I have met and has the actions of a dog. He runs to the door when the doorbell rings and loves all strangers. There is nothing like seeing the joy on my 6-year olds face when he wakes up in the morning with the kitty laying on his belly!

That is super sweet & totally know what you mean!

Hi, I have a 13 year old cat in good health. My 5 year old is asking Santa this year for a new kitty… I am not sure how the older cat is going to handle this. I love cats and would have a house full if I could.

I have two cats and a foster kitten. They all bring joy in different ways. Our oldest, Mauser is probably the funniest. As soon as my husband comes home from work, Mauser meets him at the door and just meows at him like he is filling him in on everything that went on that day. It always makes us laugh.

Hearing my kitty purr brightens my day! We are also fostering 2 fun kittens and a cat for a small rescue group. Their “purrsonalities” are all different and bring extra fun into our family. Thanks for the contest!
